Peels & Laser Resurfacing

Dr. Christine Brozowski is a Cosmetic & Laser Medicine expert who knows that healthy skin is fresh and vibrant with an even tone and smooth texture. With age, however, the process of cell renewal begins to slow down and dark blotches and sun damage begin to appear. Your skin may become dull and develop fine lines and wrinkles. We offer several peels & laser resurfacing treatments to renew and refresh skin and correct pigment.

Although the Clear & Brilliant Laser has largely replaced chemical peels in popularity because it has minimal downtime, some patients prefer traditional peels, which are more cost-effective. Our practice offers several options including: resurfacing pigment correcting peels, glycolic peels and TCA Blue Peels, to reduce photodamage and pigmentation problems.

Benefits of chemical peels

The key to success with a chemical peel is having precise control of the level of acid penetration. When the old layer has peeled off, it exposes a new layer of undamaged skin, which has a smoother, younger, more even-looking appearance. Chemical peels improve the skin quality and tone.

  • Evens out skin tone

  • Lightens hyperpigmented areas

  • Brightens dull complexions

  • Skin feels smoother; makeup glides on more easily

  • Treatment takes only 10-15 minutes

  • Preferred by both light and darker-skinned people

  • Reduction in acne scarring, reduces superficial blemishes

  • Can be used on the neck and other parts of the body

The use of chemical peels can remove damaged and aging skin, improve skin quality and tone, resulting in healthier and more beautiful skin.

Q & A
What are the concerns and possible side effects?

Occasionally, patients with very sensitive skin may have mild temporary redness or irritation.

What is the level of discomfort during and after the treatment?

You may experience some discomfort, similar to a transient stinging sensation during the treatment, which resides in minutes. No anesthesia or numbing cream is needed.

How long is the recovery time?

There is no downtime and you can return to normal activities immediately after treatment. After your first treatment your skin will have a fresh pink glow. Improvement continues throughout the treatment program. You will be more susceptible to sunlight immediately after a peel so sunscreen is mandatory and avoidance of the sun for the rest of the day is recommended.
