How does the SmartLipo procedure work?

After using tumescent numbing medicine in the area being treated, Dr. Brozowski inserts a very small cannula (tube) approximately 1.0mm in diameter containing a laser fiber under the skin. The cannula delivers the laser’s energy directly to the fat cells, causing them to liquefy. The laser energy also interacts with blood vessels, causing them to coagulate, thus minimizing bruising and swelling. Another wavelength of light emitted stimulates the dermis, resulting in skin shrinkage or tightening.Due to the cannula’s small size, SmartLipo laser-assisted liposuction is a less invasive procedure and can be performed with local anesthesia in an outpatient setting.
